Scarecrow Contest

Goal: To create a fun and inviting Main Street for the community and visitors to enjoy by decorating with scarecrows

Participants: All Hampstead businesses/organizations (not just Main Street) are invited to participate

Location: Lamp posts starting at the intersection of 30/482 and ending near the Illiano Plaza or directly in front of your business

Timeline: Set up of scarecrows can begin on Sat, Oct 3rd and must be completed by Mon eve, Oct 5th. Clean up must be completed by Tuesday, Oct 20th.

Contest Guidelines

Voting for the People’s Choice Scarecrow Award 2026 will begin on Friday, October 9th (the night before the Fallfest) and continue through Thursday, October 15th. Voting will be done with a QR code or at a voting table set up at the Fallfest. The QR code will be provided to all businesses participating to display in their business and/or on their scarecrow.
